Disclaimer: DISH Network provided my tickets to the festival & camping accomodations for the trip I wrote about below, and did not provide any additional compensation. They did not require that I write this blog post, nor did they request it. I have written my honest opinion about how much I loved this trip, and would have been willing to pay for it out of my own pocket.
Labor Day = camping & good music? YES! If you asked me prior to Labor Day weekend 2019 if those phrases go hand in hand, I’d disagree. Me – camping? But, after a crazy fun-filled weekend in Buena Vista, Colorado, I’d be crazy to say otherwise.
DISH Network invited the hubby and me to the Seven Peaks Festival as a salute to hometown heroes. Although our 3-day festival experience and camping were sponsored, I was honored to attend. Being a military family has taught us that home is wherever the heart is & wherever the Army sends us ? … fortunately for us, we LOVE living in Colorado. And I love supporting Colorado businesses. Fun fact: DISH was founded by an entrepreneur in Colorado to do one thing – to bring television to rural communities and small towns across America that were disconnected because they were “beyond the cable lines.” So, they partnered with country music artists to bring the best in live country music at the Seven Peaks Festival.
My husband serves in the U.S. Army and thankfully was able to take a road trip with me for this event. (I’m terrified of driving through the mountains) And my friend Rachel was able to come as well on “day two” of the festival. I’ve never been camping before, but it’s been on my bucket list of things to do before we leave Colorado. I’m so glad I was able to do that in Buena Vista!
For the past 8 years, I’ve been telling the husband that I wanted to go camping. And he’d say “I’m in the Army, we go camping all the time” ? So now I’m camping at #SevenPeaksFest with Rachel & he’s left to go home with the kids. It was allllll good at first… chilling with new friends while listening to PRETTY RICKY at a country music festival ? .. BUT nobody warned me about when the temperature drops. Although we had a blast with our tent neighbors, I was freezing!
If you’ve never been to Seven Peaks Festival or to any country music festival – do yourself a favor & DO IT! I’ve met the most friendly people, listened to some amazing artists, and had so much fun!! Seeing Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, and Maren Morris was a dream
Seven Peaks Festival is definitely on my list for next year. Thanks, DISH, for sponsoring my trip and for the Hometown series with Hardy, Clare Dunn and more, it was one of my favorite parts of the 3-day festival.
In conclusion, Seven Peaks Festival did NOT disappoint! Good music + camping + great drinks = super fun! We met so many people that I can now call friends from ALL OVER with different stories from their hometowns. Stories that connect us.

If you missed the 2019 festival and the amazing lineup of country music artists – be sure to grab your tickets for next year, I’ll definitely be there!
