These tiny humans keep me busy no matter the season. Especially Jovani! For those of you who have been checking on him since his recent hospital stay - thank you. Although he has recovered from the MIS-C, he still has to see the cardiologist monthly until his heart is fully healed. BUT he’s back to his normal fly guy self. 🥰

Whew! My fav place to be right now is hanging out with my kids in our backyard, gardening, and just enjoyin the warm weather BUT we are definitely not a fan of the bugs that come with the heat!

I debated with myself about if I should post this, but after spending some time in the pediatric ICU with my son - I thought about other parents who would be scared like us from experiencing the same. #longpostalert

Jovani was recently diagnosed with a multisysyem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), a rare but serious condition linked to Covid-19. I initially brought him to a different hospital ER for neck pain, fever, and loss of appetite .. and they discharged him assuming it was a common virus. His health progressively started deteriorating and by the time he got to @childrensphila his BP was dangerously low & heart rate elevated.. which meant the inflammation was already limiting the function of some of his organs.

I never cried and prayed as much as I did since he’s been in the hospital. But I’m glad I read about this condition beforehand so that I could advocate for my son & knew the questions to ask.

Post-Covid symptoms to look for:
1) persistent fever
2) new rashes
3) nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, belly looks extra bloated
4) red/bloodshot or swollen eyes
5) large lymph nodes or neck pain
7) confusion

I've partnered with @HyundaiUSA to share #MyHyundaiStory. Our family has taken so many road trips in our Hyundai Palisade, but the most life-changing (& longest 😫) was when we moved from Colorado to our new military base in New Jersey.
